Holistic nutrition is unique in that it takes the whole person into consideration, rather than merely focusing on singular aspects. Eating healthy is only one part of the big picture when it comes to our overall health and well-being. Physical, chemical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and environmental components of a person’s life are all evaluated. Nutritional education is the primary tool used to build the framework for sustainable health and wellness. Whole, nutritious, foods that are unrefined and unprocessed are favored. Preferably organic and/ or locally-grown too. The client becomes fully engaged in the process with the motivational support and guidance from the holistic nutrition professional.
As a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist®️, I advise individuals on how to improve their diet, lifestyle, and mindset to promote better health. I create personalized regimens that include recipes, meal plans, supplement & non-toxic product recommendations, mindfulness tips, and more. I often work with licensed healthcare providers to help individuals, nutritionally and holistically, with previously diagnosed illnesses that can contribute to poor health. I also offer functional lab testing through labs such as Ulta Lab Tests, DUTCH Precision Analytical, and York Test Laboratories. My advice is always founded on evidence-based and holistic principles and I adhere to the highest standards of accountability and integrity, as well as, the NANP Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics. With my board certification through the HNCB and NANP, I have obtained extensive clinical education that has broadened my scope of practice beyond the limitations of a health coach. This is not a one-size-fits-all philosophy. Each client is approached as a unique individual with their own specific needs. I consider all factors, such as diet, food intolerances, hormonal imbalances, digestive disturbances, stress, toxins, nutrient deficiencies, products, and anything else that might be contributing to the issue(s). If necessary, we may look at attachments to thoughts, behaviors, and routines that are detrimental and focus on ways to overcome them through mindful practice and goal setting.
Some ways that holistic nutrition may help you are:
- Increased energy & focus
- Enhanced immunity & detoxification
- Lower inflammation levels
- Healthy weight maintenance
- Improved mood
- Decreased stress & anxiety
- Clearer skin
- Blood sugar & hormone balance
- Better digestion
- Overcoming obstacles so you can achieve your goals
Holistic nutrition is less about following any specific diet and more about living a healthier, happier, life by implementing positive elements. Consistency is key when it comes to establishing sustainable changes and these types of transformations are a beautiful thing when it helps us learn, grow, and be who we want to be.
